It wears the mask of professionalism, but it runs on self protection. Now, when we worked together, what emerged wasn’t a lack of confidence. And so fixing confidence wasn’t going to make any difference. It was a subconscious identity that hadn’t caught up with her influence. She knew she was good, but deep down, part of her still felt like she didn’t fully belong. Like an outsider looking in, you know, not one of the club. Like success had let her in the room. But any minute, someone might realise that she didn’t come from the right background or didn’t have the right story.
[00:03:56]:
That’s imposter syndrome. And it runs deeper than most people realise. And so until we shifted that, her team kept feeling that whiplash. Clear direction one day, second guessing the next. And how did we shift it? Well, not by giving her a new mindset, mentor or productivity tool. We worked directly with her nervous system. We rewired the subconscious beliefs that said you have to prove yourself. And we replaced them with embodied safety.
[00:04:26]:
You belong here. You’ve earned this. She didn’t need more polish. She needed presence. And presence only arrives when the body stops bracing. So once she anchored into who she really was, not who she was trying to prove herself to be, everything changed. Her feedback got cleaner. Her team stepped up.
[00:04:47]:
She stopped leading from compensation and started leading from presence. That’s the power of cleaning up the 0.1%. So let’s get into the science of it, shall we? You see, your nervous system is exquisitely tuned to safety, not success. That doesn’t feel safe all of the time, but to safety. And when your subconscious detects a risk, visibility, conflict, potential criticism, it activates that survival mode. Not overtly, just enough to shift your breath, your tone, your timing. Now, research in neuro leadership shows that our brains register perceived social threats like exclusion, embarrassment or status loss, as equally real as physical danger. So when your conscious mind is saying, I’ve got this, your nervous system might be whispering, but what if they see through me? And that whisper shapes how you lead.
[00:05:53]:
Not because you believe it consciously, but because your body starts to guard. You pause a beat too long, you edit your enthusiasm. You over explain. In coaching, we help you recognise Those physiological cues and re pattern them in real time. So instead of bracing, you stay grounded. Instead of proving, you stay present. So here’s what that 0.1% leadership misalignment might look like in your day to day. You might say yes to a project that you know you should really delegate because you’re not sure if your team will do it to your standard.
[00:06:33]:
Otherwise known as doing it right. You’re editing an email five times before you hit send. Even though your first draught was actually solid, you feel low grade dread before meetings. Not because you’re unprepared, but because you’re unconsciously bracing. It’s not about the big break, it’s not about the big breakdowns. It’s about the microleaks. And microleaks in leadership cost energy. They cost trust and they cost creativity.
[00:07:09]:
And that’s where neuro identity coaching makes the invisible visible. We don’t just work on the thoughts. We work on the felt sense of safety and identity in your body. We reconnect you to the leader you actually are, not the version your inner critic is still trying to correct. We help your nervous system trust the seat you’ve earned. We do this through somatic practises that calm your system’s stress response, subconscious rewiring that updates your internal identity and leadership simulations that rebuild trust in your presence without that performative overlay. Because when your energy, your voice and your identity are aligned, that 0.1% evaporates. And what’s left? Clarity, gravitas, coherence.
[00:07:57]:
The kind of leadership that makes people feel safe to shine around you. Who doesn’t want a team made up of those people, eh? You see, I’m not just a coach. I’m a neuro identity evolution practitioner, a certified medical herbalist. And I’m a chartered accountant with decades of leadership experience. I’ve led the high stakes finance teams through transformation. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when a leader’s presence is fragmented versus when it’s embodied. My work combines the strategic with the somatic. The mindset with the nervous system, the tactical with the transformational.
[00:08:36]:
We don’t just fine tune your leadership, we recalibrate it from the inside out. So if you’ve done the mindset work but you still feel that subtle glitch, if you want your presence to feel as powerful as your plans, if you’re ready to lead with your full energy, not just your intellect, book a call with me so we can have a chat about neuro identity coaching and whether it’s the right fit for you the links in the show notes. So let’s clean up that 0.1% so your leadership becomes what it’s always meant to be. Unshakable, resonant and real. Sending you lots of love. Bye for now.
